Booties for my new granchild.

My eldest daughter is expecting her second child in december and has asked me to pull out my knitting needles and make some booties for her. I love making these delicate little shoes from  patterns that my mother made for me, over 50  years ago, and also knitted for her own granchildren. Here is the first wave of booties, and now I have started, there will no doubt be a few more to come.

Week 10 Feeling Sketchy Challenge

"Thank You" - My entry in the feeling sketchy challenge week 10.
I made this card at our monthly card class. The flower is made out of tissue paper, cut out with 3 different sized dies, sponged around the edges, brad to join together, then crinkle as desired. It is made up of many layers of tissue paper.
I have missed a few weeks, due to my trip to see my family in Tasmania.

Week 8 - Feeling Sketchy 21-5-2012

The sketch at "feeling sketchy"
http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/feeling-sketchy-week-8.html

My Card - (late Mother's Day Gifts)
It took about 5 mins to assemble the card - the flower took a little longer,
as it was my first attempt at making one - lol.
I am travelling back to my home town to see my parents, who live  in Tasmania
and my sister, who is currently visiting from Cambodia- thus the very late Mother's Day
cards and gifts.I have made crochet flower pins, then attached them to a card.
The pins are easily removed.

The petals of the flowers are die cut from felt.

Feeling Sketchy Challenge May - Week 7 14/05/2012

Week 7 Sketch for "Feeling Sketchy"
 http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/feeling-sketchy-week-7.html

My Mother In-law's Mother's Day Card.
I found a great idea of Z-fold card on the Internet,
so I thought I would give it a go with this sketch.
Paper from Stampin Up.
Due to the fact that it moves when the front is opened,
I had to lower the star (flower in my case) element.
Inks are Tim Hotlz distress inks -  "forest moss, walnut stain and stormy sky".
Dies from My Favourite Things "Royal Rose and Royal Leaves" were  used for the flower.
Embossing folder "Drifting Endless" from Couture Creation.

Close up of the sentiment. Pearls from Spot Light.

The rose is blue and green and is also painted with "linen" shimmer spray.
Sorry my photo didn't pick this up very well.

Early Mother's Day Celebrations

Daniel and Penella's Card

Belinda and Tim's Card

My Eldest Grandaughter, Madyson (4 yrs) Card for Grandma.

We all had an early "Mother's Day / Happy Birthday Grandpa" Celebration this weekend.
I love it when we all get together as a family.
These are my lovely cards that I received from my family, along with a lovely bag, necklace , earrings and some cutting dies.I am feeling very spoilt.
Maddy (4yrs) and Lily (2yrs) both love to make cards, and grandma is very blessed by their creativity. I had a great time on Saturday with all three of my grandchildren creating finger print animals together around my kitchen table, while their Mum's were busy elsewhere.
We are so excited about the news that we are to be Grandparents again at the end of this year. God is so good to us.He has blessed us abundantly with our family.

Week 1 May - Feeling Sketchy Challenge and Stamp Spot Challenge

This is  May Challenge at the Stamp Spot.
http://www.thestampspot.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/may-challenge-spots-pink-bling-and.html
Week 1 - May - "Feeling Sketchy Challenge"
http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/2012/05/feeling-sketchy-week-6-new-sponsor_07.html
My Mother's Day Card.I am entering my card into the 2 following challenges.
1) The monthly "Stamp Spot" - May Challenge Spots, bling, pink and flowers. (link is above)
2) The Week 1 - "Feeling Sketchy" sketch challenge (link is above)
I have taken a bit of liberty with the placement of the "roseframe" element, as the piece of paper I wanted to use for the top, had a mark on it, but it still seemed just right for this card.

A close up of my flower. My card is made out of papers from "Stamp n' Up" . The flower is cut from my new "My Favourite Things" Die - Namics, Royal Rose and Leaves dies , which my daughter, Penella, gave me for Mother's day.We had an early celebration because my daughter is a florist and always works a really long weekend on Mother's Day.

Week 5 April 2012

This is the Colour Q that I used for colour inspiration for my card.
I didn't enter it into the competition, as it was closed when I found this.
If you want to give this combo a go you can find it at:
                                                           http://colourq.blogspot.com.au/
This is the wonderful sketch that I used for my card. You can find it at :
                                                     http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/
And finally this is my card for the "Feeling Sketchy Challenge, Week 5".
I have adapted the Scrapbook Sketch, so that it fits onto my card.
I have very limited time to make my projects, due to my work commitments,
and I find that cards are quicker and I don't have to wait to get photos processed.
My card is water coloured using stampin' write markers, calypso coral, pumpkin pie
and pool party. It was a lot of fun using the colours and I would not have thought
to put this combination of colours together without the inspiration of the
above  "Colour Q".I think I will try a few more of them in the future.

April - Week 4 "Feeling Sketchy Challenge"

Week 4 - Jessica T's wonderful sketch.
http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/

My Card -
Paper from my old stash, lace from the second hand shop (nice and cheap),
and the stamps and card stock from Stampin' up.
I water coloured the frogs with my stampin' write markers,
and tried to make them look like they were in water.
Hmmm... I'm not convinced that I was successful, but I had fun trying.
What a great way to spend a Monday afternoon.
